But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, "Lord, save me!" Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. "You of little faith," he said, "why did you doubt?"
~ Matthew 14: 30, 31
"Why did you doubt?"
I think it's a question that we all have been asked at some point of our lives. It's more common I think than we realize.
The ability to walk on water is surely not something we see everyday. Just because we dont, doesn't mean that we aren't exercising or experiencing, some kind of faith.
Just because I don't see the air I breathe all the time, doesn't mean that I don't recognize that it exists.
Faith is not something that one measures. It's knowing that there is a God. It's realizing that God knows me. Most of all, it's believing in greater things!
Don't feel like a failure if you struggle at times in your relationship with God. The real step out on faith is when you know that even if you fail, God will still be there.
For me, that is when we are truly walking on water.
Stay in God's grip!
